Going Global

Going Global

Today I created this easel card using the 2016 Occasion catalog stamp set called Going Global (140745/140748). I started with a piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock cut at 5 1/2″ by 8 1/2″ and scored at 4 1/4″. I then scored one side at 2 1/8″ to create the easel.
I cut a piece of the awesome Going Places DSP stack (140581) at 4″ by 5 1/4″and scored it at 2″ on the long edge. It then adhered it to the front o the Mossy Meadow base. I used the sixth from the middle framelits from the Circles collections framelits (130911) and centered on the 2″ score line before cutting with the Big Shot. (113439) Then I folded on the score line to create the easel. Piece of cake!

For the inside of the card, I cut a piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock at 4″ by 5 1/4″. I directly inked the inside of the World Traveler Textured Impressions embossing folder with the Mossy Meadow ink pad and ran it through the Big Shot. The effect came out exactly as I had hoped. I think it looks pretty cool, don’t you?

I adhered the embossed piece to the inside of the card. I stamped two globe images on Very Vanilla cardstock. I first inked the stamp with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and took a baby wipe to clear off some of the ink from the “land” sections on the image. Then I took the Mossy Meadow ink and dabbed it on the “land” sections on the image. That came out pretty cool too. I took a piece of Linen Thread and adhered the “globe” image on both sides with Tombow multi-purpose glue. I used mini glue dots and adhered each end of the linen thread on the score line on the inside cover. I then stamped the “worlds best Dad” sentiment with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and just hand trimmed into a rectangle. The “you mean the world to me sentiment” was popped up with Stampin Dimentionals so the folded top of the card can rest on it. I stamped in Memento ink and punched out using the short end of the Decorative Label punch (# 120907). I turned the piece around and punched the other edge close to the sentiment.

And voila! It’s almost done. You can’t see it in the pictures here, but I adhered a piece of very vanilla cardstock cut at 4′ by 5 1/4″ to the back of this  card. This will allow me to sign my name on the card and put a little message to my Dad…he will totally love this card!

  3. #stampitcontest – Awesome card. I’ve just made this card for my Dad for Father’s Day. I used fishing line as I didn’t have linen thread – Sue
